Upon your arrival on campus, please check in with the International Student Services Office which is located in the Byrnes Building on the corner of College and Sumter Streets. Please plan to arrive at least one week prior to the start of your specific program orientation. You must attend an orientation with the International Student Services Office as well as an orientation to the Darla Moore School of Business. Your program management team will send orientation schedules and activities well in advance for your planning purposes.
English Language Proficiency
English is the language of instruction for all graduate programs and international students are expected to be proficient in English. Prior to full enrollment in a specific program, admitted students whose native language is not English are required to take an English diagnostic test administered by the English Program for Internationals (EPI) center on the USC campus. The results of this test and an interview with a member of the EPI staff will be used to validate the student's level of English language proficiency. Based upon this evaluation, a course of study will be recommended for those students who have demonstrated inefficiencies in oral communication and/or reading skills. Those students are required to begin the recommended English course during their first semester of graduate study in the Moore School and complete the course by the end of their second semester.
As per the specific requirements of admission for each program, a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score with a minimum proficiency is also required.
