Sustaining Leadership Award

New This Year

The Sustaining Leadership Award recognizes the CEO who has simultaneously demonstrated an effective leadership of an organization in terms of financial, reputational and social performance AND a commitment to developing the future leadership of that organization.  

The award will consist of a formal award event held at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina in the fall of 2017 and a $10,000 contribution to the charitable organization of the winner’s choosing in the winner’s name.  

Nominations should be submitted by the nominee’s Chief HR Officer by May 1, 2017 to the Center for Executive Succession at

CES Talent Leads Meeting  Co-hosted by Angela Lane, Vice President of Talent and Development at AbbVie and Rob Ployhart, Management Department Chair and Bank of America Professor of Business Administration. To be held at Darla Moore School of Business. Talent Leads from a number of our partner companies along with other guests and faculty will discuss lessons learned and best practices in developing high potential talent.

Talent Leads Meeting at ADP - Hosted by Jill Altana, VP, Global Talent and Development for ADP. This event was held at ADP's Innovation Lab in NYC.

April 12, 2016

CEO Succession event was held at Ally Financial's New York office on April 12, 2016, hosted by CHRO Jim Duffy. The new CEO Jeffrey Brown and Comp and Nominations, Chair Kim Fennebresque joined Jim as they talked about their CEO succession process. In addition, Rich Floersch, recently retired CHRO at McDonald's shared the insights he gained through the multiple and diverse CEO successions he lived through during his tenure.

Building Global Leaders: A Meeting of Talent Leads – Hosted by David Howe, Associate Vice President, Global Talent Management at Merck & Co., Inc., Kenilworth, N.J. This meeting combined the talent leads for CES companies with a Moore School faculty member to engage a discussion about the challenges and best practices in building global leadership capability. Andy Spicer, professor of international business and director of the Moore School’s #1 ranked International MBA program presented how the Moore School builds leaders with a global perspective.
