Networking Success at Light Speed - Position Yourself
Room J/K, 8th Floor, Moore School
Georgia Doran, Director of Career Education
Advance registration required.


This speed networking event is designed as a fun and efficient way to meet each other and form business connections, and that is what will happen at this event. First, Georgia Doran will lead a brief workshop on personal positioning and network mapping. Then, participants will apply their speed networking skills, briefly meeting with a group of people before alternating seating arrangements to interact with another group.

Richard (Dick) Wilkerson
Chairman and President
Michelin North America, Inc.

Richard (Dick) Wilkerson became Chairman and President in August 2008. He is responsible for the financial results and coordination of all operations of the Michelin Group in North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico) and is chairman of the internal executive board for this geographic zone. He is also a member of the worldwide executive board of the Michelin Group.

Previously, Mr. Wilkerson was Executive Vice President of Personnel for Michelin North America, having served in that position since 2006. In that role, Mr. Wilkerson also was responsible for the Environment and Prevention department (EP).

Mr. Wilkerson has spent 30 years with Michelin in manufacturing and personnel positions in the United States, France and Scotland. Before his position in Personnel, he was Chief Operating Officer for the company’s North American Specialty Tire Product Lines. He previously had served as head of Michelin’s Earthmover tire business in North America and head of the Earthmover original equipment business worldwide.

After earning a civil engineering degree from Duke University, Mr. Wilkerson spent 12 years with Procter & Gamble in manufacturing, engineering and human resources before joining Michelin North America.

Mr. Wilkerson is chairman of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He also serves on the Clemson University President’s Advisory Board and the University of South Carolina National Advisory Council. Nationally, he serves on the board of the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA).

He is active in the Greenville, S.C. community, serving as chairman-elect of the United Way of Greenville County Board of Trustees. Previously, Mr. Wilkerson served as chair of the United Way of Greenville County fundraising campaign. He has served on the boards of the Greenville Urban League, the Chamber of Commerce, the University Center and the Greenville Symphony.
