An engaged alumni network is a strong alumni network. Please see listed below several of our current opportunities to become more involved, and never hesitate to contact us if you have ideas of other ways you might like to interact with the Moore School!

Attend Events

The Moore School regularly hosts in-person events in Columbia and around the globe, as well as virtual events. You can always check the events calendar for the latest plans! The invitations for these events come primarily via email, so please make sure the Moore School has your updated email address (send it to if you'd like to receive invitations that way.

In Columbia

Each year in April the Moore Schoo hosts the Business Leadership Dinner, a gala event including the presentation of the annual Distinguished Awards. This is a premiere business networking event in the Midlands!

In the fall, on the Saturday before the first home football game, the Moore School hosts the Shuck & Shag alumni oyster roast. This event is a fantastic time for alumni to enjoy each other - food, drink, music, and fun!

The Moore School also hosts an assortment of lunch and learn events and occasional other evening events, including those sponsored by the Friends of the Accounting Department (FAD) and the Young Alumni Board

Virtual Events

The Moore School hosts periodic web-based events to facilitate global networking for its alumni. These have various themes, and can include chats with career services professionals, MBA alumni, and alumni-student chats. Be sure to give this exciting new platform a try!

Reunite with your Classmates

While the Moore School does not plan large-scale reunions for the entire school, many classes continue to keep in contact and love to plan 5- and 10-year reunions. The Alumni Engagement Office is happy to help support you in this planning by working with you on venues (which are not always in Columbia), communication lists and materials to help you reconnect with the Moore School and with each other. Please contact Whitney Evans, Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement, to start planning your reunion!

Are you interested in keeping track of events in the lives of your classmates? Online Class Notes are a great way to peruse events from those who graduated in your decade. Be sure to submit your own updates as well!

Visit our New Home

The Moore School's new home is an incredible space that will have untold influence on its future. This building is open to all our alumni, and tours led by Moore School Student Ambassadors are available upon request for alumni, friends, potential students, and any others. These tours will not only show the physical building, but will cover information like sustainability, innovative technology, and new opportunities for partnerships happening because of this new space. Each tour lasts approximately 30 minutes. To schedule your tour, please call +1-803-777-3176 or email For more information about the new building on the web, please visit this page

Speak to a Class

One of the best ways to reconnect with the Moore School is to visit campus and speak with a class, or meet with a small group of students. Moore School students consistently share with us that the most important piece of their education is the thought leadership they receive from those who are currently in the business world. The Alumni Engagement Office would love to talk with you more about finding a match for your expertise! If you're interested, please contact Mary Ruffin Childs (BSBA '80) Director of Alumni Engagement.

Utilize our Alumni Services

Please consider to see the Moore School as a resource for your career even after you graduate. The Alumni Engagement Office has put together a portfolio of services for Moore School alumni to aid in all stages of your career. Read more about these services here, and always feel free to offer feedback - your satisfaction level with current services, and your suggestions for new ones!

Promote us to Potential Students

Alumni are the most important promoters of the Moore School's future. Your first-hand experience of the power of a Moore School education is the most powerful testimony that a prospective student - undergraduate or graduate - can hear! Please share your love for the Moore School and its impact on your life with others at every opportunity. Occasionally volunteers are needed for regional recruiting fairs and other opportunities. If you'd like to be added to our list for those events, please contact the Alumni Engagement Office!
