2015 FAD Fall Kick-off

Bluegrass music and BBQ were the theme of the evening as the School of Accounting faculty, students and alums kicked off the Fall 2015 semester at the annual Friends of Accounting (FAD) Fall Kick-off held in the Sonoco Pavilion at the Darla Moore School of Business on August 27, 2015.  Everyone enjoyed the evening which included a welcome from Dean Peter Brews, updates from the FAD Chair Tim Gallagher and the School of Accounting chair Brad Tuttle, and a tour of the new, state-of-the-art Darla Moore School of Business.  FAD-Putnam scholarship/fellowship recipients Ashley Alzate, Abigail Carey, Jennings Craft, Brittany Kmieciak, DeMarcus Marable, James Milby, Caroline Paxton, Jacob Sillyman, and Heather Simyon were recognized for their accomplishment.  The FAD Board recognized Wayne Ledbetter as a Distinguished Alum of the School of Accounting and the Center for the Advancement of Accounting recognized Dr. Robert "Al" Leitch with a Lifetime Achievement award.  (See related article, Career Achievements.)

The FAD Fall Kick-off is an excellent event for reconnecting faculty with former students and former students with each other.,  Current students from the MACC Student Association and Beta Alpha Psi are invited to attend in order to educate them fo the need for FAD and their role in the future success of FAD and the School of Accounting.

The evening was quite a success, as evidenced by the photographs below.
