Global Leadership Fellows

Admitted applicants to the International MBA may be eligible to be selected as a Global Leadership Fellow. This prestigious honor is given to select individuals based on their service or academic background.        

South Carolina residents who meet the criteria will receive a fellowship award of $3,000. Out-of-state residents who meet the criteria will be awarded a fellowship of $2,000 plus an additional award package with a value of approximately $28,170, which covers the difference between the in-state and out-of-state program fee rate for nonresidents. Additional funding opportunities may also be available for South Carolina residents and non-residents who are selected as a Global Leadership Fellow. (Please note: Award amounts are applicable to candidates entering in 2017 and the eligibility requirements to be considered as a Global Leadership Fellow are different between the International MBA and one-year MBA programs).

Eligibility for the Global Leadership Fellows includes:

  • U.S. Military
  • Returned Peace Corps Volunteers
  • Graduates of Moore School of Business international partner institutions 
  • Approved STEM and Health & Medicine Degrees
  • Degree, major or minor in one of the International MBA language tracks (Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese or Spanish) 

United States Military
The Moore School values the service and sacrifices of the members of the U.S. military. We believe that the leadership and experienced gained during their military service paired with the managerial and global leadership skills gained by a Moore School MBA provides exponential value and will transform them into sought after leaders among top global organizations. Members of the United States Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines or Navy who are Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard or Reserves will be selected as a Global Leadership Fellow.

Peace Corps Volunteers
Returned and current Peace Corps Volunteers add a unique perspective to our International MBA cohort with their experiences in developing countries. Admitted applicants who have served in the Peace Corps will be selected as a Global Leadership Fellow. In order to be considered, a copy of the Description of Service must be sent to the Moore School to be eligible. Applicants must have a 3.25 undergraduate GPA or a 3.5 graduate GPA to be eligible.

International Partner Institution Graduates
The Moore School prides itself on having important academic partnerships with some of the top Universities and institutions around the world and recognizes the value of the alumni of each of these global partner institutions. The Moore School believes that the academic strength and professional experience of these alumni paired with the managerial and global leadership skills gained by a Moore School MBA provides exponential value and will transform them into sought after leaders among top global organizations. Applicants admitted to the Moore School full-time MBA program who have graduated from one of the approved Moore School international partner institutions will be selected as a Global Leadership Fellow.

STEM and Health & Medicine Degrees
Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and Health & Medicine graduates benefit by pairing their experience and expertise with the managerial and global leadership skills gained by a Moore School MBA. The full-time MBA programs add exponential value, offering a clear path for graduates to become a sought after leader among top global organizations. Applicants who have been admitted to a Moore School full-time MBA program, meet the requirements, and have an approved STEM or Health & Medicine degree or major will be selected as MBA Global Leadership Fellows. For graduates of U.S. institutions, candidates must have a 3.0 undergraduate GPA or a 3.25 masters GPA (no minimum for doctorate). List of Approved STEM and Health & Medicine Degrees.

Foreign Language Degrees, Majors and Minors
The International MBA is unique in the fact that it places a strong focus on cultural and business immersion, as well as requiring an in-country language immersion. Applicants with prior knowledge of a foreign language can be highly effective in a global business environment, bringing a valuable dimension to the International MBA program. Admitted applicants to the International MBA who have a Degree, major or minor in one of the International MBA language tracks (Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese or Spanish) will be selected as a fellow. The degree, major or minor cannot be an applicant’s native language and the degree, major, or minor must be listed on the transcript, diploma or mark sheet. For graduates of U.S. institutions, applicants must have a 3.25 undergraduate GPA or a 3.5 graduate GPA to be eligible.
