From Our Students

Students share their perspectives on the Moore School's Master of International Business.

A student blog:

One of the best aspects about this program is our cohort community. Each semester a small and diverse group of accomplished students come together from around the world to learn from and inspire each other while completing their MIB at USC. Each student has unique career aspirations and come from various academic, professional and cultural backgrounds. Together, we are able to take the fullest advantage of this program and of life as a USC student. Here are just a few highlights from the social and cultural experiences we shared this past semester:

Camping Trip to Kick of the Fall 2013 Semester

MIB students went camping at the Long Branch Environmental Education Center located north of Asheville, NC. They explored the downtown area, carpooled to the campsite, went hiking, cooked over the fire place and handpicked fresh, organic blueberries. By the end of the weekend long-lasting friendships were already starting to form out of these 22 strangers from 9 different countries.

American Football Games

Fall is American Football season and USC has one of the best teams in the country! The MIB students took advantage of free tickets and went often to see the Gamecocks play! They also joined in the tradition of tailgating in the parking lot before the game. When the team was playing in another city, they got to experience the excitement at local viewing parties and bars.

Men’s Intramural Soccer Team

This semester, we had our very own intramural indoor men's soccer team! The MIB men played every week and even made it to the semi-finals! The rest of the cohort had fun cheering them on! Games took place inside of the Strom Thurmond Fitness and Wellness Center.

Thanksgiving is an American holiday where friends and family gather to celebrate the fall harvest (traditionally) and to express their gratitude for the love and blessings in their lives. This year, local MIB student, Lauren, invited the whole MIB cohort to her parent's house to experience a traditional thanksgiving celebration. 18 students gathered together for  food, games and to reflect on the awesome experiences they'd had together throughout the semester so far.

MIB student quotes:

"What I have enjoyed the most about the MIB program is the program structure. Not only are you able to tailor your classes to fit into your career goals but also with having an international cohort your are able to engage and interact with so many different cultures and create networks, and even more friendships , that will last longer than the one year we have together." - Henry, USA

" I enjoyed every minute! There are some experiences in life that are priceless, the MIB program is certainly one of them!" - Heiko, Germany
