Admissions Process

We have pulled together important information about our admissions process here so that you can find out exactly what you need.

Program Entry Dates

You can begin our program in the Spring, Summer, or Fall semesters. Most students enter our program during the Fall semester. We encourage students without a summer internship or students planning on participating in recruiting (already have a job offer) to take at least one summer class to begin the MACC program.

Application Deadlines

We cannot review your application until we receive all of your required application documents. Applications missing documents after a deadline has passed will be carried forward to the next deadline assuming all documents are received.

* Applications submitted after the final deadline for each entry term will be processed on a case by case basis. Please contact macc@moore.sc.edu if you wish to apply after the last deadline.

Online Application

Applicants must complete our online application at moore.sc.edu/apply. Applications will not be considered complete until we have received all of the required application documents: official transcript(s) from all attended institutions, GMAT score, statement of purpose essay, 2 letters of recommendation, and TOEFL/IELTS scores (if applicable).

Admissions Process

Once all documents have been received, your application is reviewed by the MACC admissions committee. Applicants are evaluated based on the materials submitted, and a decision is communicated within one week of the application deadline. For Rolling Admission, applications are evaluated on a case by case basis and decisions will be communicated within two weeks of receiving a completed application. The MACC admissions committee may request additional information from you, including an admissions interview.

Work Experience

We do not require work experience for admission into our program. Most of our MACC students enter our program directly after completing their undergraduate degree.

Accounting/Business Degree Not Required

We do not require students to have an undergraduate degree in accounting or business for admission into our program. Students must either complete our required business core and upper level accounting prerequisite courses prior to entering or within our program. For a list of the required prerequisite courses, please visit our Curriculum page.

Prerequisite Courses

Students must complete our required business core and upper level accounting prerequisite courses. Most undergraduate business programs cover our business core prerequisites. Most undergraduate accounting programs cover our upper level accounting prerequisites. Prerequisite courses can be completed either prior to entering or during our MACC program. For a list of the required prerequisite courses, please visit our Curriculum page.

Financial Awards

All students admitted to our MACC program are considered for financial awards/scholarships. For more information on merit-based financial awards, including fellowships, scholarships and graduate assistant positions, please visit our Financing Your MACC page.

Seat Fee/Enrollment Deposit

To secure your seat in our MACC program, we require a $1,000 seat fee/enrollment deposit. The seat fee/enrollment deposit is non-refundable, and is applied against your first semester's tuition payment (deposit/pre-payment of tuition). If you fail to pay the seat fee/enrollment deposit, there is a chance that you could be removed from any registered classes due to space capacity issues. It is strongly encouraged that you pay your seat fee/enrollment deposit as early as possible to secure your seat in our program.
